SCAD seeks a director of internal audit to help maintain quality and excellence in the university’s financial operations.

In this role, you will review financial and operational departments and cross-departmental processes to ensure compliance with policies and appropriateness of controls. You will present clear, concise audit results and any opportunities for improvement to the SCAD Board of Trustees, the president and senior administration.

You will report directly to the chair of the audit committee, in collaboration with the senior vice president for finance, as well as work closely with the controller and finance team and other administrators across the university.

The ideal candidate establishes and maintains positive and effective working relationships with all departments, seeks constructive solutions, maintains confidentiality at all times and facilitates the success of others.

⎯ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
-Experience in public higher education or auditing preferred. Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), auditing standards (GAAS), governmental accounting standards (GASB) and governmental accounting systems. Ability to understand and apply state laws, regulations and federal compliance requirements.
