SCAD seeks a dedicated assistant coach for the university’s men’s and women’s bowling teams.

In this role, you will assist the head bowling coach with various functions related to the successful operation of the SCAD men’s and women’s bowling programs. You will recruit student-athletes, schedule and secure the team’s travel arrangements, manage the budget, and procure supplies and equipment.

During tournaments, you will manage players according to collegiate standards for sportsmanship and the rules of college athletic associations. Through appropriate public relations and successful promotional activities, you will preserve the positive opinion of SCAD athletics and bowling within and beyond the university community.

The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to guide, teach and communicate with student-athletes, as well as a strong commitment to student development and excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills. Previous experience in practice and tournament coaching, recruiting and academic support is preferred, as well as certification from the International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructors Association. You must also be willing to travel as needed, including nights and weekends.

– Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, one to two years of related experiences and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experiences
