SCAD seeks a residence director to maintain an active and engaging university experience for students, and promote student interaction, leadership, community service and a healthy lifestyle.

In this full-time, 11-month, live-in position, you will lead a staff of nine to 16 student employees in developing community within an assigned residence hall, build relationships with individual students, and educate students and staff on residence hall policies and procedures.

Serving as an on-call educator, resource and referral agent for up to approximately 4,150 students living on campus, you will manage all aspects of an assigned area, including staffing, programming and maintenance. You will develop and implement community programs based on the university’s mission, vision and values, manage residence hall budget, and assist in the selection and training of all the resident assistants with initial and ongoing training sessions.

Additionally, you will serve as a conduct officer for residence hall students who have allegedly violated the code of student conduct and coordinate hall openings and closings.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in a university residential setting or other group-living environment and is comfortable in a leadership role.

⎯ Master’s degree, specifically in higher education, student development, counseling or related field
⎯ Live-in, residence life and housing experience as a graduate student preferred
