All applicants must have:

• A bachelor’s degree.
• Experience pitching and publishing nonfiction story ideas (e.g., travel essays, blog posts, news articles, film reviews, etc.) for reputable media outlets.
• Demonstrated interest in film, fashion, fine art, architecture, and other areas of art and design addressed in the SCAD curriculum.
• Demonstrated understanding of and concern for quality classroom instruction and the state and future of higher education.
• Two writing samples (see above).

Preferred candidates have:

• Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 or college level.
• Speechwriting experience for CEOs and other executives.
• Experience using visuals to tell a story.
