SCAD, named one of the world’s top animation schools and said to be among the “Ivy League of Animation” by 3D World magazine, seeks a part-time adjunct animation professor to join the university’s award-winning eLearning faculty.

In this role, you will teach online courses on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to acting for animators, gesture drawing for animators, 2-D animation on paper, digital cel animation, pre-viz and storyboarding, and 3-D character rigging and performance.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio of substantial professional experience in animation production or related fields, and demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should be an expert with Adobe Creative Cloud, Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro or Autodesk Maya, including rigging and animation.

A broadband internet connection is essential for this remote position, as is ownership of a professional-grade workstation capable of videoconferencing and running the aforementioned suites of content creation software.

⎯ Master’s degree or the equivalent in animation or a related discipline
⎯ Two years of teaching experience in higher education preferred
⎯ Proven leadership skills and ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds preferred
⎯ Facility with virtual classroom or online teaching software preferred
⎯ Experience with Houdini, C++, Python or Maya API scripting preferred
